F. of India left this Message at 7:55 P.M. on 3/9/10 Wow! I just got back last night from the 16th-century Ottoman Empire. Talk about vast! It was so big that they couldn't install wall-to-wall carpet, since it cost so much. (But I could be imagining things. I think the time warp made me woozy.) I did, however, really enjoy hearing Suleyman's poetry, although his rhyming of "Ottoman" with "a lot of them" was questionable. Of course I more than made up for that with my joke about the Ottoman Vampire. (I think they're right when they say that humor doesn't translate.) But I DO recommend taking a steam bath in the Haseki Hurrem Baths. Very relaxing! Unfortunately, I was SO relaxed that I slept for a month, TOTALLY missing a history quiz, so that was a bit of a bummer. Catch you on the flip side!
